Accounting Manager

Role Overview
The Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including monthly close, audit coordination, accounts payable, and cost accounting. This role ensures accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and compliance with US GAAP while leading and developing the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including close calendar, task assignments, and deadline enforcement
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow)
- Maintain a clean, well-documented, and audit-ready general ledger
- Verify and audit inventory costing
Internal Controls & Audit Support
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
- Ensure appropriate documentation and retention of accounting support
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during audits and reviews
- Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements
Accounts Payable Oversight
- Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices while maintaining strong controls
- Resolve vendor issues and discrepancies
- Review AP reconciliations
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support optimization of accounting systems, tools, and reporting workflows
- Drive process improvements to increase close efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Partner with Finance leadership on automation and system enhancement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4-5 years of experience
- 1-2 years of experience in audit or public accounting
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP
- Experience using an ERP
- Proficiency with Excel (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
