- Develop and integrate with the Shopify GraphQL API to automate storefront and back-office operations.

- Automate infrastructure with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
- Identify and streamline inefficient processes using automation and tooling.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and design teams to ship features quickly in a startup-paced environment.
- Architect scalable solutions to support high-growth e-commerce systems and internal tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new features across frontend and backend systems.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code across multiple services and deployments.
- Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD workflows, especially in cloud-native environments.
- Own projects from ideas through deployment and monitoring.
- Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on technical direction.
Tech Stack You’ll Work With
- Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), possibly Python or Go
- AI: Experienced with config-driven AI environments that leverage CLI tools to automate complex development tasks, bonus if leveraged MCPs to give AI platforms such as Claude Code a persistent bridge to external data
- APIs: Shopify GraphQL Admin & Storefront APIs
- Cloud: AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway) or GCP (Cloud Functions, Firestore, Pub/Sub), Kubernetes a plus
- IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, SST, or Pulumi
- Architecture: Event-driven systems, serverless microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs
- Dev Tools: GitHub, Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, CircleCI), Postman
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of professional full stack development experience, preferably in startup or high-growth environments.
- Deep experience with cloud services (AWS or GCP).
- Proven ability to build and maintain serverless architectures and microservices.
- Strong background in working with GraphQL APIs, especially Shopify’s ecosystem.
- Experience automating business processes or internal operations with code.
- Solid grasp of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats in a startup setting.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Shopify liquid, headless and app development
- Prior work in the e-commerce or retail tech space
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Stackdriver)
