About the Job: 

Comfrt is looking for a highly skilled Fabric & Color Manager to lead fabric innovation, material sourcing, and seasonal color development across all categories: lifestyle, athleisure, home and travel. This role blends deep technical expertise in knits, dyeing, and fabric printing with strong operational execution in a fast-paced environment.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research, development, and commercialization of new knit fabrics and materials.
  • Partner with Design, PD, QA, and Sourcing to deliver materials that meet cost, quality, and sustainability goals.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and mills; drive innovation in fabric quality, print execution, and color performance.
  • Build seasonal color palettes with Design and PD; create Pantone tools and manage lab dips, strike-offs, trim colors, and bulk approvals.
  • Troubleshoot fabric + print issues to improve durability, hand-feel, and overall execution.
  • Support country-of-production diversification through strategic fabric resourcing, quality control oversight, and strong vendor partnerships.
  • Organize and track all fabric, color, and print submissions within internal systems.
  • Oversee development and bulk fabric testing (ASTM, AATCC, ISO) to ensure performance and compliance.
    Maintain a well-organized material library and support ongoing resourcing initiatives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements across development workflows and enforce existing Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline and enhance operational efficiency
 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in fabric development, material management, or textile product development (knits required).
  • X-Rite Pantone Color Management Professional Certification and/or AATCC Textile Color Evaluation Training
  • Extensive expertise in textile construction and development, including deep knowledge of knits, sweaters, yarns, dyeing processes, finishing techniques across both performance and lifestyle applications
  • Strong color expertise: Pantone standards, lab dips, color approvals, and print strike-offs.
  • Experience working directly with global mills and printers; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, thriving in fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Eye for fashion, trend, and material aesthetics, with a deep understanding of key competitors and a passion for curating elevated, brand-defining textile solutions that resonate with the Comfrt customer
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration and clear supplier engagement
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility with an eye for materials, color, and print trends.
